Dr. Almallah is a board-certified ophthalmologist, certified both by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Eye Surgeons. His primary practice is devoted to eye surgery and has been practicing in Toms River and surrounding communities for the last fifteen years
He is an internationally recognized ocular surgeon and is recognized by his peers as one of the finest and most skilled eye surgeons anywhere. He receives frequent referrals from fellow ophthalmologists to operate on complicated patients, including many of who only have one seeing eye. It's no wonder that other ophthalmologists who need surgery, physicians, attorneys, judges, pilots, and police officers, and many others seek this surgeon for their own care. Dr. Almallah is an experienced ophthalmic and refractive surgeon. He has performed over 8,000 thousand-microsurgical procedures including cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, RK and Refractive intraocular surgeries. He utilizes the latest technologies and most sophisticated techniques in laser vision correction.
Dr. Almallah graduated magna cum luade with a Bachelor of Science degree the University of Pittsburgh and received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. His training to be an eye specialist was at the Temple University Hospital where he was ranked no. 1 out of 500 applicants for one of 3 very coveted training positions. He completed his residency and was Chief Resident his senior year at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Almallah has articles published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Ocular Surgery News, Review of Ophthalmology, and the trade publication Eye World. He has been asked to comment on complicated surgical problems, which have been published in major international journals and he is been an invited speaker at major national and international ophthalmology meetings.
Dr. Almallah performs the full range of refractive surgical procedures including Lasik, PRK, RK, and advanced microsurgical and intraocular procedures including presbyopic lens exchange for qualified candidates.
Dr. Almallah evaluates every surgical candidate personally and does not delegate any significant part of the evaluation to technicians. He applies his extensive knowledge in ocular surgery to educate patients and their families to the appropriateness of recommending particular ocular procedures to patients. When he does recommend a procedure, it's with great confidence that the patient will benefit.
